Upside Down

Sophie Selby

Posted on December 08 2015

Walking around the denser parts of Hong Kong, you can’t help but look up. It’s all buildings on buildings on buildings. For me, I’ve always kept myself entertained looking at this city’s urban landscape like you would watch the clouds go by. What do you see? What does it look like if I turn everything upside down? Floors become roofs, people walk on ceilings, skies become rivers. What was once a skyscraper is now a Vogon Destructor Ship. This obsession with inverting my mental compass doesn’t make me the most conscientious pedestrian, but it beats getting frustrated at the slow moving crowds.
