Veteran Hong Kong Filmmaker, Ann Hui, debuted a G.O.D. custom-made suit at Venice Film Festival

Goods of Desire co-founders, Douglas Young and Benjamin Lau, were honoured to be chosen by Ann Hui to create her custom-made ensemble for the closing ceremonies of the 2014 Venice Film Festival. Ann’s latest project, ‘The Golden Era’ was the closing film of the festival. She also served as the president of the jury for the festival's Horizons section.
Douglas, Ben and Ann worked closely together to create a style that was both suitable for the red carpet, yet respected Ann’s signature relaxed, casual look by creating something that would be comfortable, yet versatile.
The black jacket worn at the closing film was paired with G.O.D. trousers and topped off with a multi-layered, cut stone earring encrusted with diamonds created by Benjamin.
Ann said: “When ‘The Golden Era’ was chosen as the closing film at the Venice Film Festival, I knew I wanted to wear something that would represent Hong Kong – made in Hong Kong by a Hong Kong brand. From the first meeting, Douglas and Ben understood how I would want to appear and be represented”.
Alongside the honours in Venice, Ann will also be as the ‘Asian Filmmaker of the Year’ at this year’s Busan International Film Festival (2 to 11 October 2014).
