PAUL TURNER - FACELIFT
Oil with wax on canvas
51cm (H) x 41cm (W)
A man sits alone and still with his hands stuck in time his body made up of only lines stuck in a bleak empty canvas. His face once painstakingly detailed, now distorted and seemingly dripping under its own weight is scraped back in one decisive gesture to bring movement and change to what was once stagnant. Creating beauty from destruction.
This piece uses lots of white space, to create a stark contrast with the oil and wax which is used to paint the mans face
