GOD collaborated with William Lim on the Auspicious Greetings Collection. Featuring original artwork from William, this collection of serving plates beautifully embody Chinese idioms, bringing the blessings to life.

Four serving plates from four idioms were designed:
Dai Gut Dai Lay (大桔大梨) -  Wishing great luck and smooth sailing
Lin Lin Yau Yu (蓮蓮有魚) - Wishing surplus, year after year
Hei Sheung Gah Hei (喜上加起) - Wishing happiness upon happiness
Fung Shan Shui Hei (楓山水起) - Wishing success in your work

Inspired by the traditional Chinese 年画 (New Year Paintings), William applied Cantonese phonetics to the words, and created the artworks with an architect-trained graphic sense.

William came by our D'Aguilar store, hosting a "Meet the Artist" and signing event to celebrate the collection's launch.

Taking a beloved Chinese tradition, and spinning it with a distinctively Cantonese element, made this a synonymously GOD celebration.

About William Lim:

William Lim introduces himself as an “architect, artist and collector, not necessarily in that order”. His portfolio embodies that description, from his award-winning design practice CL3 to his personal contributions as a member of Tate’s Asia Pacific Acquisition Committee and the Board of Trustees of his Alma Mater, Cornell University.
