A photobook of contemporary Hong Kong shot by smartphone.
How do we tell an epochal story based on our imagination of the world? William Shum, an architect and award-winning mobile photographer, explores the world with his own angle and expresses his feeling of Hong Kong through his smartphone into this photobook - Feeling Phonetography. This book highlights the touching moments and builds a common memory with everyone through accessible photographing.
Photography is an intimate language between the world and us, whereas a phone is our passport of eye-travelling.
In 2016, William set up William Shum Phonetography and since then has hosted numerous courses, tours and exhibitions, amassing thousands of enthusiasts. His works have been regularly shortlisted in both local and international photography contests and are prize-winning in Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3), Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA), and National Geographic Hong Kong Photo Contest 2020, to name a few.
