Two Hong Kong Tatler 500 Listers, Goods of Desire (G.O.D) co-founder Douglas Young and Hing Chao have teamed up to create Modo Boon, a contemporary collection of clothes inspired from the heritage of Chinese martial arts culture, defined by both its spirit and functional requirements.

The designs take reference from Kung-Fu clothing from the Republic period and it is modernised according to contemporary aesthetics and lifestyles. Remaining true to the heritage of Kung Fu, the Modo Boon collection is designed with an emphasis on freedom of movement, comfort, and for stylish city living advocates along with Kung-Fu enthusiasts. Hing Chao, who is actively promoting Chinese martial arts through cultural activities, research, and book writing, believes that “Traditional Kung-Fu apparel is better suited for stage performance than routine practice. I believe now is the time to change that. I would like to increase public interest in revitalisingKung-Fu heritage, especially among the young generation, through this collaboration with G.O.D., a brand which had succeeded in revitalising the Hong Kong culture with its creativity.”
